September is nearly on its way to completion.
Summer, similarly, is nearing its end.
What I have found newly uplifting lately has been a combination of running into familiar, old experiences:
I restarted working on my cricket scoring app (named: “Scorcerer”). Scoring a handful of matches on sheets of paper humbled me greatly and, thus, I pursued the need to simplify the UI. It’s too early to share an MVP with you but I am looking forward to extending that extra skip in my step from working on this side project to fruition. Stay tuned?
I succeeded in buying tickets for React Advanced London conference for next month after talking myself out of it last year (“I don’t think I want to go anyway..”) and regretting it later.
I am energized witnessing Daryl’s ongoing efforts on, KNOSH, a brand new app based on an exciting idea (I don’t want to steal the thunder by revealing it beforehand!). It definitely has taken me back to University days when Daryl’s demos for assignments were far more useful to explore than following along the (mostly) archaic slides delivered in lectures.
I am keen (and nervous?) to return to Women in Tech, Nottingham as an attendee today. The last one I attended in person was nearly 4.5(!) years ago in pre-pandemic times. The landscape of tech in general and tech in this city in specific is so vastly different to the one I was introduced to at 20 — how will it be like getting reacquainted?
I hope you can relate to reconnecting or finding meaning in moments or experiences you thought had dwindled. It’s true: “Joy is not made to be a crumb.”
